In November 2022, London’s Directors of Children’s Services and Practice Leaders worked collaboratively to develop a regional statement of ‘Principles & Practice for In Person Working in Child & Family Social Work’ in line with best practice and to promote equity across the workforce.
The statement recognises the positive benefits which post-pandemic flexible working has brought to staff whilst emphasising the importance of relationship based practice in social work to assess the risk and needs for children and families, supervision & wellbeing of practitioners themselves and the shared knowledge and resources which can result from in person working.
