Public Data Links for Children's Services Professionals
These data sources are free to use and very easy to access. They provide an invaluable benchmarking resource for all those working in England's children's services.
The local area benchmarking tool from the LGA can be found at https://lginform.local.gov.uk/ and includes a wealth of child-focused data, including a local area SEND report.
Public Health England has provided a focused set of child and maternal health profiles https://fingertips.phe.org.uk/profile/child-health-profiles
If you are looking for SEND statistics, then take a look at the Council for Disabled Children's multi-agency SEND dashboard
The Children's Commissioner produced a seminal report in July 2019, supported by maps showing ‘child vulnerability', looking at children in households where:
- an adult has a drug or alcohol dependence
- an adult has experienced violence or abuse from a partner in the last year
- an adult has a clinically diagnosable mental health condition
