North-Central
The North-Central sub-region is chaired by Anne Canning (DCS/DASS Hackney).
The North London authorities are currently focusing on COVID-19 recovery as a peer to peer group, building on existing collaborative partnerships with DCSs meeting fortnightly. Peer challenge and development will continue, utilising the quarterly reporting data set alongside the published data in the annual visualised report.
Please see Agenda page for all forthcoming events.

South
The South sub-region is co-chaired by Ana Popovici (DCS Wandworth) and Pinaki Ghoshal (DCS Lewisham).
Whilst the focus of the sub-region is currently on recovery from COVID-19 with fortnightly DCS meetings, the South London work plan includes twice yearly peer challenge events utilising the quarterly LIIA data report. These events inform sub-regional learning activity.
The Peer Challenge clusters are as follows:
- Lambeth, Greenwich, Lewisham
- Bexley, Bromley, Southwark and Croydon
- Sutton, Merton, Kingston, Richmond and Wandsworth
DCS meetings follow directly after ALDCS bi-monthly meeting.
Please see Agenda page for all forthcoming events.

East
Tim Aldridge (DCS Newham) chairs the East sub-region.
Whilst the focus of the sub-region is currently on recovery from COVID-19, with fortnightly DCS meetings, the sub-region hosts an annual cycle of peer challenge, with all LAs meeting together for a one day event using self-evaluation of the annual visualised report and quarterly LIIA data report as a platform for challenge. East London undertakes an annual Learning Summit which is informed by the output of peer challenge and by the programme of bespoke learning events in East London.
Please see Agenda page for all forthcoming events.

West
The West sub-region is chaired by Gail Tolley (Strategic Director for Children and Young People – Brent) with Paul Hewitt (Corporate Director of People Services - Harrow) leading on LIIA sector-led improvement work.
West London authorities have a history of collaborative work with an emphasis on placement commissioning and shared procurement supported by the West London Alliance, which currently includes inter-authority challenge around SEND and collaborative work facilitated by the West London Assistant Directors’ networks (Social Care, Education and SEND). The focus of the sub-region is currently on recovery from COVID-19 and includes fortnightly DCS meetings during this period.
The West DCS sub-region’s Recovery Workshop was held via video conference on 17th July 11-1pm.
